This cream is my go to face cream. It moisturizes my face without clogging pores or leaving it feeling oily. I inhale the aromatherapy and feel calm, relaxed, and peaceful.
TALLOW SKINCARE BENEFITS
First off I want to be clear that not all tallow is created equal. The tallow I use is from Helios farms. Where the cows are pasture raised, never touched with antibiotics, hormones, and fed grass. I personally know my farmer who renders the tallow OR I render it myself. Making sure that all the benefits of tallow are preserved through the rendering process.
Tallow contains the same fats or lipids found in healthy, supple human skin. Tallow is believed to prevent dryness at the cellular level without suffocating the skin's barrier
Tallow is loaded with vitamins A, D & K and antioxidants. One of which is vitamin E, known to promote rejuvenation of the skin by fighting free radicals that can cause wrinkles.
Vitamin D has the ability to restore vibrancy in skin. In addition, Vitamin D "induces the expression of antimicrobial peptide genes in human skin and plays a significant role in preventing opportunistic infections." (source)
Tallow and sebum (the oil in our skin) share many of the same lipids or fats in similar concentrations. Some believe that it is this similarity that allows tallow to absorb deep within the layers of the skin. This leaves your skin feeling silky and smooth.
Tallow is an intense moisturizer that assists in retaining the skins natural moisture. It replenishes the building blocks of our skin that decrease with age. It’s non-greasy, won’t clog your pores, is long-lasting and 100% natural. It prevents dryness all day and only needs to be applied once.
The bottom line, there is NOTHING more moisturizing and restorative for your skin than tallow. At the same time it leaves your skin feeling silky, smooth, and hydrated without feeling oily and heavy. Once you try it, you won’t be going back to any other skin care product.
Product Ingredients:
First off, what makes the difference with apothecary balms is the quality of your ingredients! From my research, each ingredient I use is the best quality. Because I have used this primarily for my family and not for resale sourcing ingredients well that don’t compromise our skin is really important! I also create all my skin care products in small batches as to preserve the integrity of the ingredients. None of the product has ever touched plastic. I heat the product over low and slow heat as to not lose the healing properties of the ingredients.

Shea butter - moisturizing, antimicrobial, anti-fungal, antioxidant. Boosts collagen production, helps cell regeneration, may help reduce acne, includes a light natural SPF, and soothes many skin irritants.
Helios Farm Tallow - moisturizes at the cellular level, contains vitamins A, D, K, and antioxidants, anti aging, promotes youthful skin, aids skin brightening, aids dry/itchy skin irritants
Jojoba Oil + Vitamin E oil infused with rose, lavender, and calendula - treats dry skin, aids in wound healing, protects from free radicals, may help scarring, treats acne, discourages wrinkles, and treats chronic skin diseases
Coconut Oil - according to the FDA coconut oil treats acne, psoriasis, and eczema. It is anti aging, helps treat stretch marks, and heals the skin internally.
Beeswax - resists water which makes the cream water repellant. Hydrates the skin, relieves itching, and improves blood circulation.
Lavender Essential Oil - soothes the nervous system, aids wound healing, nourishes the skin, hydrates the skin, combats acne, minimizes sun spots, and relieves itchy skin.
Frankincense Essential Oil - soothes and reduces skin imperfections, balances dry skin, fights flaky winter skin, brightens the skin, may protect against breast cancer, may aid in skin cancer.
Helichrysum Essential Oil - anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial, and anti-bacterial which aids in reducing skin inflammation from acne, blocks UV radiation, hydrates burns, reduces age spots and discoloration, can help wrinkles to disappear, and hydrates and nourishes the skin.
Vitamin C fine powder as ascorbic acid - most powerful antioxidant on the planet, slows the production of melanin, encourages collagen production, repairs wounds, and helps the skin absorb sun exposure.
How long will it last? I’ve had a 2oz jar that I have used exclusively as night cream on my face and very large pregnant belly. I used about 3/4 of the jar over 3 months.
